Representation in Films

From this task I learnt about how directors and producers represent their characters. For example in Ferris Bueller the audience get an idea of what he may be like from the opening sequences close up shots which show his facial expressions. To create a social group it is important to represent a character through mine en scene and editing. In my opening sequence I will make sure to change the pace of my editing if tensions change in any way. I will also use a variation of camera angles to show clearly the characters expressions. In my research I also learnt about the way setting is used to represent social groups. In Good Will Hunting the setting is in a rough part of Boston to represent Will and his friends lives. I will take the setting into account when making my video so I create the right representation for my character.
