Title Research

In this task I have taken a much closer look at the text in opening sequences. I have learnt about what is effective in keeping the audience focused and what isn't. I have also learnt about how important typography is to making a title sequence successful. For example Weird Science's opening has a uniquely styled font but is static so may not keep the audience interested. I will use what I've learnt from looking at text to keep my audience exited for the film. I will constantly change the way text appears on the screen and the placement of it like Superbad does very well. However I will most likely keep my font the same style in my opening sequence to create a clear identity and make it easy for the audience to link my text with the opening sequence Also I have found a typical convention of opening sequences. The Director is often shown last in the opening credits which I may consider doing to make my sequence look professional.
